Midsummer Madness
Town Walls' 'Midsummer Madness' 24 hour marathon charity tournament was held on the weekend of 20 and 21st June. The starting bell was rung at 12 midday on Saturday and there was continuous play from then until when the bell was rung again at 12 midday on Sunday 21st June. It was a fantastic event with around 60 adults and juniors joining in with some night owls playing through the night and in the small hours. An evening barbeque and bacon butty breakfast was provided for all ticket holders and players.
Many thanks to everyone who provided the excellent salads and puddings and a special thankyou to Jane Gibson, Bill Craig and Beverley Partridge for organising such a great social event.
700 pounds was raised for Parkinsons UK in memory of David Latto.
The number of games played was 1252 and the prize for the most accurate guess went to Steve Bogie.
The prize for most games won went to Peter Barrett
The prize for the youngest competitor went to Isobel Hartridge age 5.
